Barb is the Distinguished Professor of Engineering at Oakland University, Her career is a testament to perseverance and growth. Originally trained in Slavic Languages and Literature, she began tackling remedial mathematics and went on to become a leading voice in education innovation. She was the 2023 recipient of the McGraw Prize for Lifelong Learning.
David Handel, MD, is the co-founder and CEO of SmarterHumans.ai and co-founder of aytm.com. In high school, David was an average student, graduating in the 50th percentile of his class. His perspective on learning changed dramatically when he discovered the value of retrieval practice. This simple but powerful technique helped him gain admission to medical school, where he ultimately graduated at the top of his class.
After a 30-year career as a radiologist, David retired from medicine to focus on building iDoRecall, which has now evolved into SmarterHumans.ai. He describes SmarterHumans.ai as his passion project of a lifetime that helps students and lifelong learners unlock their potential and achieve success in ways they may not have thought possible. Drawing from his own experiences, David hopes to make the learning journey more effective, rewarding, and fun for others.
Lev Mazin, co-founder of iDoRecall and its next-gen version, SmarterHumans.ai. Lev is also the CEO and co-founder of aytm.com, and is a trailblazer in the field of InTech–consumer insights automation technology.
